General Conference Information

Q. What is TSW 2009?

A:  Technology Services World, or TSW, is the leading conference for worldwide service leaders to gather and learn about service strategy trends, best practices, and services solutions to improve their organizations.

Q. What is the expected attendance?

A:  TSW 2009 is expected to attract 600 to 800 service leaders.

Q. Is the conference open to non-members of AFSMI, SSPA, and TPSA?

A:  Yes, non-members are welcome to attend TSW 2009.

Q. How do I submit to be a speaker in the future?

A:  The Associations publicize a Call for Speakers approximately six months prior to each conference. Contact Christi Holzer for additional information.

Registration

Q. How do I register?

A:  Registration is done online.

Q. What are registration costs?

A:  Registration is open to members as well as non-members.  The registration fee is $2,195 USD for members and $2,595 USD for non-members. We also offer Early Bird and other promotional offers — please visit our registration page for details.

Q. Is there a special registration fee for an academic registration?

A:  Yes, the fee for an academic registration is $895 USD.

Q. What is a voucher?

A: A voucher is a conference pass that is one of the many benefits included with membership in AFSMI, SSPA and TPSA. Conference vouchers may be redeemed for attendance at one of our world-class conference events, including Technology Services Europe, Technology Services World Silicon Valley, and Technology Services World Las Vegas. Vouchers have numbers that must be entered into the registration system to activate a registration.

Q: How do I find out if our company has conference vouchers available?

A: Upon becoming a corporate member of AFSMI, SSPA, or TPSA, your company identified a “primary contact” within your organization. That person serves as our principal contact, and also as the holder of the membership benefits to which your company and its employees are entitled. To find out the name of your company’s primary contact, and if there is a voucher available for your use, contact Mike Healy at susie.hiner@tsia.com or 1-858-674-5491.

Q. What type of payment do you accept?

A:  We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and personal checks. Should you be purchasing three or more conference registrations, we will accept a company purchase order. Please call 1-858-674-5491 for details.

Q. Are there group discounts?

A:  Yes, we offer team discounts. Register four or more from your company with paid registrations (vouchers or cash) to take advantage for our fifth free registration. If you register ten or more, you get a complementary wrap-around meeting after our conference on Wednesday. To register your team, please contact Susie Hine at 1-858-674-5491.

Q. Will you be offering professional development workshops prior to the conference and what are prices?

A: Yes, we are offering professional development courses at TSW'09 Las Vegas.

Q. Can I change my personal information after I have registered?

A:  Our registration system allows you to change your information. When you register you receive a special registration number. Use this to access the system and modify your information.

Q. Can I assign my registration to another member of my company?

A:  Yes, you may substitute attendees at any time.

Q. What is your cancellation policy?

A:  Should you need to cancel your registration, please contact us immediately.  If you cancel 14 calendar days prior to the conference, you will be able to use your registration at a future AFSMI | SSPA | TPSA conference (in Europe or in the U.S.) provided it is used within one year.

Q. Where do I pick up my badge, or will it be mailed to me?

A:  You will receive your badge and conference materials at the hotel and conference center.  Please plan to arrive at least one hour before the opening session to obtain your materials.

Q. What are the onsite registration hours?

A:  Onsite registration is open starting Sunday, October 18 at 3:00 PM.

Travel and Hotel

Q. How do I make a hotel reservation?

A:  Visit the Travel and Hotel page to read more about accommodations at The Mirage. Also, you can reserve your room online.

Q. Are there special rates for car rentals or airfare?

A:  We have a special rate for the hotel rooms, as well as a 5% discount for travel on jetBlue. Visit the Travel and Hotel page to read more about these specials.

Q. Is transportation available to and from the airport?

A:  Attendees are responsible for arranging for their own transportation to and from the conference hotel.

At the Conference

Q. What are the networking opportunities available at the conference?

A:  There are a variety of networking opportunities, including meals and receptions. There are also opportunities to sign up for no-host dinners with fellow conference attendees.  Please ask about these when you register or check in at the conference hotel.

Q. Are all meals included in the cost of attending?

A:  Breakfast, lunch and evening receptions are included in the cost of attending.

Q. What are the evening events?

A:  The Associations host evening cocktail receptions in the exposition hall on Monday and Tuesday.

Q. Are conference translation services available?

A:  No. Our conferences are presented in English.

Q. What is the expected dress code?

A:  Business casual.

Q. Where can I find conference abstracts and session descriptions?

A:  The conference Web site has a complete agenda and speaker profiles.

Q. Can I go to any track session regardless of my Association membership?

A:  Yes, you are free to attend any session that interests you.

Q. Will presentations be available after the conference, and if so, when?

A:  Yes, presentations are made available on our Web site generally within one week from the last day of the conference.
